Combating Sports Betting Fraud: A Collaborative Effort in Canada
The Gaming Association of Canada (GAC) and the Global Betting Integrity Body (Gbib) are collaborating to fight dishonesty in athletic wagering. This alliance is especially crucial as Canada broadens its sports wagering options, including the launch of the Ontario internet gaming market. The Gbib, an internationally recognized guardian organization, will collaborate closely with the GAC to oversee wagering actions, examine questionable conduct, and safeguard Canadian gaming establishments, sportsbooks, and patrons from the dangers of game manipulation. This joint effort utilizes the Gbib’s vast expertise in tracking billions in wagering transactions globally, guaranteeing a more secure and reliable sports betting landscape in Canada.
The objective is to maintain integrity in sports wagering, safeguarding both the contests and participants. This involves ensuring adherence to regulations and ethical betting practices, collaborating to combat fraudulent activities.
Khalid Ali, heading the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), highlighted the critical importance of safeguarding the wagering sector in Ontario and Canada as a whole. He underscored the IBIA’s dedication to partnering with diverse betting stakeholders, particularly the Canadian Gaming Association (CGA), to uphold ethical standards.
The CGA has played a pivotal role in establishing a regulated betting landscape in Canada. The IBIA recognizes them as a crucial ally in fostering responsible industry expansion, prioritizing fairness in both athletic competition and gambling.
