Boyd Gaming Spreads Holiday Cheer with Record-Breaking Wreaths and Trees of Hope Campaign
A prominent gaming corporation, Boyd Gaming, contributed more than $180,000 to charitable causes via its yearly “Wreaths and Trees of Hope” festive contest.
Representing a diverse range of missions, over 160 charitable groups took part, adorning wreaths and trees showcased at 22 of the company’s venues across the nation. Patrons could cast ballots for their preferred charities digitally or physically at the participating sites. The contest garnered over 100,000 votes throughout the country.
Among the participating venues were Delta Downs Racetrack, Hotel & Casino in Louisiana, Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania, and Main Street Station in downtown Las Vegas.
The “Wreaths and Trees of Hope” initiative just concluded its 14th year, and 2021 witnessed several new milestones achieved, including the overall prize fund, the quantity of participating venues, the quantity of participating charities, and the quantity of votes tallied.
The 2021 prize fund increased by $35,000 from 2020 (when Boyd had already surpassed the prior record), and there were 4 additional participating venues and 25 additional charities involved.
Boyd Gaming, a significant presence in the gaming sector, has demonstrated considerable generosity through its philanthropic endeavors. Since initiating their Charity Poker Tournament in 2007, they have contributed over a million dollars to charitable organizations nationwide. With a portfolio of 28 casinos spread across 10 states, they stand as a prominent figure in the industry. Demonstrating resilience, they have rebounded from the pandemic-induced downturn that severely impacted the sector. This resurgence is evident in their latest quarterly financial report, which reveals a substantial 29% surge in earnings.
